"My Guiding Light"
'Guiding Light' , according to me is that which steers one from the curses of ignorance to the eternal bliss of knowledge and wisdom.
This light, for me, is provided by all the teachers who have taught me big or small but nonetheless significant lessons in life. Here, I dedicate my first blog to all those blessed souls who come in our life in the form of teachers and guide us from darkness to light like Angels do. What could be a better occassion than to thank teachers on "The Teacher's Day" ?
Teahcers are the sculptors of this world, they morph the man.
Blessed are those who Teach.
Teachers, I feel, have never been given the credit they deserve. And I am not talking only about the teachers who teach in schools, colleges and other institutes, helping us with our academic and extra curriculars, but also of those who teach us indirectly. The latter may probably be anyone from neighbours to freinds to colleagues to complete strangers or for that matter of fact, anything including but not limited to incidents, life changing experiences, inanimate objects and what not. There is something or the other which is to be learnt from everyone and everything we come across.
Do we really bother to thank those people from whom we have learnt something?
I hardly remember thanking my parents who have taught me things which I can't live without.
I hardly remember thanking my friends from whom I have learnt certain values and tried to incorporate them in my own life.
I hardly remember thanking my colleague who had taught me to debug my code.
I hardly remember thanking my neighbour who taught me to clean the spark plug of my scooter.
There are countless incidents and teachers, given a choice to go back in time, whom I would like to say my heartfelt "Thank You". But as we all know, its never too late. I take immense pleasure to THANK all of you who have touched my life in some way and have taught me something or the other.
Here I would talk about two of non conventional teachers whom we consiously or unconciously don't tend notice.
First is this thing or rather,i should say, a miracle. that has captured millions, if not billions, of imaginations. It has made life easier than any strech of human imagination .It has brought entire world at our fingertips. You know what I am talking about. Yes it is "THE COMPUTER WITH INTERNET". I think, I can unequivocally say that 'this is the MOST revolutionary invention ever'. It has been nothing less than a miracle. I am not at all ashamed of admitting that I cannot live without a computer. It has taught me so many things those which I would have never learned had this invention not have happened. I would specially like to thank Mr. Charles Babbage and Mr. Tim Berners Lee for this miracle. And also to all those people who were involved in anyway with my computer and its internet connection. And most of all to the Thing itself.Thank You!!!
But as you all know the best and the biggest teacher in life is Life itself. Or other cliched way of saying it is 'Experience is the Best Teacher'. Eventhough this is a very old adage, it is as relevant as ever and will be remain till there is Life on this planet. Those mute animals learn everything, from finding food to reproducing from the only teacher they have known since they were conceived. "The Real Life Experiences". And we are not much different from these mute animals except that we also learn from many other sources and Teachers. I would like to suggest one thing, though not asked for, 'Don't ever shy away from trying new things that you feel like doing'.(And by this, I in no way mean that you should do things that hurt others.) I have conciously marked, there are always some takeaways from anything and everything we do. Thank You Life!!!
Finally,as I am writing this,my first blog, there is one teacher who inspires me to write every word."Hey teacher this specially for you. Though you may have not taught me any subject but you have, brought to life an aspect of my life which was entirely untouched, till you came to my life. You are THE BEST.Thank you my best friend!!!"
I know this is not as interesting as you guys would like to read but for me its a start and I could think of a better way to start than to thak all those who have touched my life. Critical comments are most welcome. I hope I would come up with something much more interesting next time I put pen to paper or rather I should say fingers to keyboard. Till than enjoy life....
